How to pin a stock or index to the top of the Kite marketwatch
Pinning a scrip on the Kite marketwatch lifts it above the scroll fold so the row is always visible. This is useful for an active intraday position or a chart-of-the-day. The default pinned row at the very top of every marketwatch is the Nifty 50 overview (which is a separate, non-removable Kite feature); the watchlist pin sits below that overview.

Step-by-step procedure
Four steps per the procedure infobox above. The notes below cover the pin limit and how pinning differs from reordering.
Pinning versus reordering
Pinning is a special-purpose “always at the top” flag. Reordering is freeform drag-and-drop. Both can coexist: the pinned row is always at the top; the rest of the rows can be reordered below it.
| Aspect | Pin | Manual reorder |
|---|---|---|
| Position | Always row 1 | Anywhere below the pinned row |
| Limit | 1 per watchlist | Unlimited |
| Persistence | Server-side, syncs across web and app | Server-side, syncs |
| Visual cue | Pin icon highlighted on the row | None |
Top-of-marketwatch overview vs pinned scrip
At the absolute top of every Kite marketwatch sits a Nifty 50 / Sensex / BankNifty overview strip that is not part of the watchlist. This strip is provided by Kite and cannot be removed from the marketwatch panel. It is separate from the pinned scrip; the pinned row appears below the overview and above the rest of the watchlist.
If the overview resets to Nifty after you select Sensex or BankNifty, see Pinned overview resets to Nifty for the workaround.
