Krishna Sanghavi is the Chief Investment Officer for Equities at Mahindra Manulife Mutual Fund, a SEBI-registered mutual fund managed by Mahindra Asset Management Company Private Limited, a joint venture between the Mahindra Group and Manulife Investment Management of Canada. Prior to joining Mahindra Manulife, Sanghavi served in senior equity investment roles at Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company, where he was one of the key equity fund managers in an investment team led overall by MD and CEO Nilesh Shah.

Early life and education

Krishna Sanghavi holds a management postgraduate degree and a CFA charter. He is based in Mumbai.

Career history

Sanghavi developed his equity investment career at Kotak Mahindra AMC, where he managed several equity schemes and built expertise in large-cap and diversified equity fund management. His tenure at Kotak AMC spanned a period of significant growth for the fund house and exposed him to the management of large equity assets across multiple market cycles.

He subsequently joined Mahindra Manulife Mutual Fund as Chief Investment Officer for Equities, tasked with building the equity investment capabilities of a fund house that was seeking to expand its market presence beyond its established pedigree in the Mahindra Group’s financial services ecosystem.

At Mahindra Manulife, Sanghavi oversees the equity investment process, manages the flagship equity schemes including Mahindra Manulife Multi Cap Fund and Mahindra Manulife Large and Mid Cap Fund, and leads the equity research team.

Investment philosophy

Sanghavi’s investment approach is oriented toward quality businesses with strong earnings growth potential, acquired at valuations that do not fully price in long-term growth prospects. He has emphasised the role of management quality and corporate governance as key determinants of long-term shareholder value creation in Indian listed companies.

Public engagement

Sanghavi contributes to Indian financial media including Mint and Moneycontrol and has been a speaker at investment conferences.
