Mihir Vora is the Chief Investment Officer of Trust Mutual Fund (formerly TRUST Asset Management Private Limited), a SEBI-registered mutual fund. He is a veteran Indian equity fund manager with a career spanning over three decades across HDFC Asset Management Company, Max Life Insurance, Standard Chartered Asset Management (India), and other financial institutions.

Early life and education

Mihir Vora is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and holds a CFA charter. He pursued his professional education in India. He is based in Mumbai.

Career history

Vora’s career in Indian financial services began in the early 1990s. He worked in equity research and fund management at Standard Chartered Asset Management India and gained significant experience in institutional equity investment management across multiple market cycles. He subsequently joined HDFC Asset Management Company, where he served in senior equity investment roles, contributing to the management of several of HDFC AMC’s equity schemes under the broader investment oversight led by Prashant Jain. He also served as Chief Investment Officer at Max Life Insurance, one of India’s large private sector life insurers, where he managed substantial equity and debt portfolios for policyholder funds.

Vora joined TRUST Mutual Fund, a relatively recently established SEBI-registered mutual fund seeking to build a distinct equity investing identity in a competitive market, as CIO. His appointment brought institutional credibility to the smaller fund house.

Investment philosophy

Vora has articulated a pragmatic, growth-at-reasonable-price (GARP) philosophy, blending quality criteria with valuation discipline. He has been a consistent commentator on sectoral rotation opportunities and on the interplay of global and domestic macro factors with Indian equity market cycles.
