Suresh Soni is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Baroda BNP Paribas Asset Management India Private Limited, the mutual fund operating company that manages Baroda BNP Paribas Mutual Fund. The fund house is a joint venture between Bank of Baroda, one of India’s large public sector banks, and BNP Paribas Asset Management, the asset management arm of the French banking group BNP Paribas. It was formed through the merger of the erstwhile Baroda Mutual Fund and BNP Paribas Mutual Fund in India.

Baroda BNP Paribas AMC

Soni was appointed MD and CEO of the merged Baroda BNP Paribas AMC entity following the consolidation of Baroda Pioneer Mutual Fund (Bank of Baroda’s earlier AMC) and BNP Paribas Mutual Fund India. The merger created a fund house with a combined product range and distribution advantage from Bank of Baroda’s extensive branch network, one of the most geographically dispersed banking networks in India, and BNP Paribas’s investment management expertise.

Under Soni’s leadership, Baroda BNP Paribas AMC has positioned itself as a mid-tier fund house with competitive strength in the bank branch distribution channel and in fixed income products leveraging BNP Paribas’s debt management expertise. The AMC has also built an equity product range including Baroda BNP Paribas Flexi Cap Fund and Baroda BNP Paribas Multi Cap Fund.

The fund house has sought to differentiate itself through the combination of global investment management standards from the BNP Paribas side with the domestic distribution reach from the Bank of Baroda channel.
