DSP BlackRock Mutual Fund was the Indian asset management joint venture between the DSP Group (the Mumbai-based DSP Adiraja Murali family business, parent of DSP Investment Managers) and BlackRock Inc., the global asset manager. The JV operationalised in 2008 after BlackRock’s global acquisition of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (which had the original DSP Merrill Lynch JV). The DSP BlackRock JV operated from 2008 through 2018, when BlackRock exited the JV and the DSP Group repurchased BlackRock’s stake. Following the 2018 transaction, the AMC was rebranded as DSP Mutual Fund , and the DSP BlackRock brand ceased to exist as a standalone entity.

DSP Mutual Fund is an Indian asset management company, formally incorporated as DSP Investment Managers Private Limited, and sponsored and wholly owned by the DSP Group, the Mumbai-based financial services and investment group founded by Hemendra Kothari. As of March 2024, DSP Mutual Fund managed assets exceeding Rs 1.4 lakh crore across equity, debt, hybrid, and passive categories. The fund house is the successor to DSP BlackRock Mutual Fund following the DSP Group’s buyout of BlackRock’s 40% stake in 2018. The DSP Mutual Fund direct portal at dspim.com is the AMC-operated investment platform for direct plan investments in schemes managed by DSP Investment Managers Private Limited (DSP AMC). DSP AMC is a privately held AMC that operates the DSP Mutual Fund trust, managed entirely by the DSP Group after Blackrock’s exit from its erstwhile joint venture (DSP Blackrock Investment Managers) in 2018.

DSP AMC has a strong heritage in equity investing and manages a wide range of equity, debt, hybrid, and liquid schemes. As of 2024-25, DSP AMC ranked among India’s top fifteen AMCs by AUM, with particular strength in multi-cap and equity-oriented strategies.
