Helios Mutual Fund is an Indian asset management company founded by Samir Arora, the long-tenured fund manager and founder of Helios Capital Management (the parent firm). The mutual fund AMC was operationalised in 2023-2024 after SEBI approval, evolving from Helios Capital’s earlier hedge fund and PMS operations that have run since 2005. Helios Mutual Fund operates under SEBI registration and the SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations 1996 framework.

Samir Arora is among the most-recognised Indian-origin fund managers, with a multi-decade investing career including senior roles at Alliance Capital (now AllianceBernstein) in the 1990s and the founding of Helios Capital Management in Singapore in 2005. Helios Capital has run long-short hedge funds and long-only PMS strategies focused on Indian and Asian equities. Samir Arora is the founder and chief investment officer of Helios Capital Management Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based hedge fund that invests primarily in Indian equities. He is one of India’s most recognised foreign-domiciled India-focused fund managers and a highly active social media commentator on Indian equity markets. Before founding Helios, he served as Managing Director and Head of Equities for India and South Asia at Alliance Capital Management (later AllianceBernstein), managing large foreign institutional investor (FII) positions in Indian equities.
