 for short-delivery resolution, multiple sellers may offer shares at the same price. Allocation among them follows a specific tie-breaking rule that participants should understand before placing auction orders.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h2 id="the-allocation-hierarchy"&gt;The allocation hierarchy&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Auctions are matched on price-then-time priority:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Best price first:&lt;/strong&gt; The lowest sell offer is matched first against the highest buy bid.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Time priority at same price:&lt;/strong&gt; Among multiple sellers offering at the same price, the seller who entered the order earliest matches first.&lt;/li&gt;
