Why a multi-asset FoF

  • One-fund solution: No need to pick equity / debt / gold separately.
  • Auto-rebalancing: AMC rebalances per mandate.
  • Tax efficiency: Capital gain only on FoF unit redemption, not internal rebalancing.

Tax treatment

  • FoF investing in equity ETFs (>65% equity): Equity-MF taxation.
  • Otherwise: Debt-MF taxation (slab rate post FY 2023-24).

Check scheme document for current categorisation. For complex tax situations, consult a Chartered Accountant.

Suitability

  • Investors wanting set-and-forget diversified portfolio.
  • Beginners who want exposure to multiple asset classes without managing each.
  • 5+ year horizon.
