Summary

WebNotes.in is a static knowledge base. It requires no account, runs no forms, and asks for no personal data. It does carry advertising served by Google AdSense and measures traffic with Google Analytics 4, and both set cookies in the reader’s browser. This page states what each one does, which pages carry no advertising at all, and how to opt out.

Data the site collects directly

WebNotes.in operates no reader database. The site does not:

  • Require accounts, sign-ups or sign-ins.
  • Run contact forms, newsletter forms, comment forms or surveys.
  • Ask for a name, an email address, a postal address or a payment instrument.
  • Maintain a login session or a stored reader profile.

Everything described below is either processed by Google as a third party, or recorded automatically by the host.

Advertising

Pages on webnotes.in carry advertising served by Google AdSense under publisher ID ca-pub-5905124826063393. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar identifiers to select the advertisements shown and to measure them, which can include advertisements selected on the basis of a reader’s earlier visits to this site and to other sites.

Some pages carry no advertising, and on those the advertising script is not loaded at all, so no advertising cookie is set from them:

  • Stub pages, which are short placeholder entries marked noindex.
  • The search page.
  • The About page, this privacy policy, and the disclaimer.

Google describes this processing in its notice “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services”, published at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites . Personalised advertising can be turned off at Google My Ad Center , and third-party vendor cookies can be declined through the industry opt-out page at optout.aboutads.info . Where a consent message is required, for example under Google’s EU user consent policy, that message is presented by Google and not by this site.

Analytics

The site measures aggregate traffic with Google Analytics 4, property G-LEWKRZP3SD, which is the same property the webnotes.in apex reports into. Google Analytics sets cookies that distinguish one browsing session from another, and reports page views, referring URLs, approximate location derived from the IP address, and device and browser type. WebNotes.in uses the result to see which articles are read and which are not.

Readers who prefer not to be counted can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on , or block the googletagmanager.com domain.

Cookies

The site sets no cookies of its own. Every cookie present on a webnotes.in page is set by Google, for the advertising or the measurement described above. Cookies can be blocked or deleted in browser settings, and every page remains fully readable with all cookies blocked, because no part of the site depends on one.

Data the host records automatically

The webnotes.in domain is served from Hostinger shared hosting infrastructure. Like most web hosts, Hostinger maintains server logs that record standard HTTP request metadata, which may include:

  • The requesting IP address.
  • The User-Agent string sent by the browser.
  • The URL requested and the timestamp of the request.
  • The HTTP referrer, if present.

These logs are retained by Hostinger under its own privacy and retention policy. WebNotes.in does not access, process, or share them.

Logging of AI crawlers

Separately from the host logs, the site records requests made by automated AI crawlers, so that the volume and the pages retrieved can be reported on. A request is logged only when the User-Agent identifies one of the named AI crawlers, such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot or Google-Extended. The record holds the timestamp, the crawler name, the requested path, and the requesting IP address, and it is written to a file outside the public web root. Requests from ordinary browsers are not logged by the site.

Third-party resources

Page resources are served from the v2.webnotes.in origin, with two exceptions: the Google AdSense script, loaded from googlesyndication.com, and the Google Analytics script, loaded from googletagmanager.com. Both are described above.

The site loads no web fonts from Google Fonts or any other third-party font service. The typeface, Figtree, is self-hosted, and the Content-Security-Policy served with every page restricts fonts to the site’s own origin, so a third-party font cannot be introduced by accident.

On-site search is provided by Pagefind. The index is built at deployment time and served from the v2.webnotes.in origin. Search queries are processed in the reader’s browser and are not transmitted to any server, and the search page carries no advertising.

Linked websites

Articles on webnotes.in link to external websites, including regulators, exchanges, depositories, broker support portals and news sources. A reader who follows such a link reaches a site operating under its own privacy policy, over which WebNotes.in has no control.

Children’s privacy

The site is not directed at children under the age of 13. No data is knowingly collected from minors.

Changes to this policy

This policy is updated when the site’s data-handling posture changes, with the revision date reflected in the page metadata above. The previous version of this page stated that the site displayed no advertising, set no cookies and ran no analytics. That description was accurate when it was written and became wrong once AdSense and Google Analytics were added; it was corrected on 16 September 2026.
